Economics and Management requires Mathematics
Oxford requires Mathematics to A level (A* or A), Advanced Higher (A) or IB Higher Level (6 or 7), with A*AA at A level.
A-level and IB planning · Oxford
Oxford's PPE and Economics and Management are often weighed against each other, and their subject rules differ in one decisive way: Economics and Management requires Mathematics at A level (or IB Higher Level) and asks for A*AA, while PPE asks for AAA and only recommends Mathematics. Both ask for 39 IB points with 766 at Higher Level, both require the Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions and neither asks for written work. The decision for a sixth-former is whether to take Mathematics, and which course the answer points to.

The decision
For Economics and Management, Oxford states a required subject: Mathematics to A level at A* or A, Advanced Higher at A, or Higher Level in the IB at 6 or 7. For PPE, Mathematics is recommended because it helps the Economics component, the first-year logic course in philosophy and the first-year statistics course in politics, but it is not required, and Oxford says extra tuition will be available to students who have not studied A-level Mathematics. Oxford suggests considering Maths to AS level, or IB Standard Level, even if you do not pursue it further.
