UCAS KH11, five years
UCL describes a five-year integrated degree that replaces a four-year MEng.
Undergraduate · UCL Engineering and Architecture MEngArch
UCL's Engineering and Architecture MEngArch is a five-year integrated degree combining architectural design, civil engineering and building services engineering. It replaces UCL's established four-year Engineering and Architectural Design MEng, so earlier descriptions of that course no longer apply. UCL says the five-year form is not yet accredited and that it is seeking accreditation, a point every applicant should weigh. The 2027-entry evidence below is not confirmed for 2028.
Official information · last verified for 2027 entry

For a normal 2028-entry application, made in 2027, every requirement below is last verified for the previous cycle and may change; UCL's 2028-entry requirements and dates are awaiting publication.
UCL describes a five-year integrated degree that replaces a four-year MEng.
The A-level requirement is AAA with no specific subjects, GCSE Mathematics and Physics at grade A or 7 if not offered at A level, and a portfolio of creative work required upon invitation.
18 points in three higher level subjects with no higher-level score below 5; Physics and Mathematics must be offered at higher or standard level, with a portfolio upon invitation.
UCL says the five-year MEngArch replaces its four-year MEng Engineering and Architectural Design.
UCL says it is seeking accreditation from the ARB, RIBA, the JBM and CIBSE and will keep applicants informed.

Read on 31 October 2026 on UCL's Engineering and Architecture MEngArch course page (a saved copy that UCL labels as possibly not showing recent changes), which describes 2027 entry. UCL's department pages, the fees pages, the contextual-offer details and the 2028-entry values were not read, and the page lists no admissions test or interview so none is stated and are not stated.
The course
UCL says the course brings together professional expertise in architectural design, civil engineering and building services engineering, developed with industry and academic experts, and is a revised and expanded version of the four-year course. In the fourth year students select an optional module, write a dissertation and produce an integrated design portfolio.
Is it the right degree?
The integrated design of the course is what separates it.
you want architecture and engineering together over five years and can offer a creative portfolio.
you want a design-led architecture degree. Avandy's UCL Architecture guide covers it.
you want engineering alone. Avandy's UCL Mechanical Engineering guide covers one such route.
Entry rules
A-level applicants need AAA with no specific subjects, GCSE Mathematics and Physics at grade A or 7 if not offered at A level, and a Comprehensive Portfolio of Creative Work upon invitation at application stage. IB applicants need 18 points in three higher level subjects with no higher-level score below 5, with Physics and Mathematics offered at higher or standard level. UCL's page lists no admissions test or interview. This page states no scores.
A decision framework
This is Avandy's own framework, not UCL's.
That is the integrated design.
A comprehensive portfolio is required upon invitation.

Planning for 2028 entry
Applying for 2028 entry means applying in 2027, under rules UCL has not yet published for that cycle. Each item below carries one of two labels. Last verified for 2027 entry means UCL published it for the previous cycle and it may change. Awaiting publication for 2028 entry means UCL has not yet published it.
These are the best guide to what to prepare. UCL has not confirmed them for 2028 entry.
Check UCL's course page for the 2028-entry values when they appear.
Confirm the required subjects, read the course structure and plan your preparation around it.
Support
Avandy provides independent academic and admissions support. It is not affiliated with University College London or any of its colleges or departments. Preparation sits within the Avandy Trinity Advisory Model: a Strategic Admissions Consultant, a PhD-level Academic Mentor and a Subject-specific Tutor, working to the actual requirements of each course.
